WELCOME TO THE DORSET CYCLISTS' NETWORK
CAMPAIGNING FOR A CYCLE-FRIENDLY DORSET
We promote cycling as environmentally-friendly transport because it improves health, reduces air pollution and helps to relieve road congestion
We are not anti-car; many of us are car users who try to use a bike instead whenever possible
We work with local authorities trying to get improved conditions for cyclists
We particularly try to represent people who cycle to work, school, the shops and other journeys as well as cycling for leisure
We have over 1,000 members including two group memberships
DCN is non profit-making
It is managed by a committee of elected volunteers
We operate through local autonomous branches in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Dorset towns
We are financed through members' subscriptions, advertising, donations and occasional grants
DCN is connected with the following organisations
Roadside Interview Surveys in SE Dorset
Councils are carrying out surveys in Sept and Oct 08 which may cause traffic delays.
